Domain Transfer in 3 Simple Steps!

A domain transfer is the process which allows you to change the registrar from which you originally purchased the domain name.

So, if you bought a domain with one registrar, and then decided you would like to move it over to tasjeel, a domain transfer is what you would need. You might decide to do this if you use a lot of services from another provider and would like to keep everything in one place.

All the details of the domain stay the same – it would still be owned by you and registered at the same address.

The price to transfer a domain is equal to the price it costs to register a domain for one year. However, the transfer will include an additional year of registration, so you won’t lose out on any money you have already paid.

This will depend on the extension and how long you take to respond to your domain transfer confirmation email, but as with most other registrars the transfer can take up to a week.

.ae domain names normally take less time, about 48 hours once you have accepted the transfer request.

The details of your domain name stay the same and that includes your DNS. As long as your site is up and running before the transfer commences, it should remain that way once the transfer is complete. You will need to get the OK from your current domain registrar before initiating a domain transfer, as they will need to unlock your domain name before it can be moved over. This can usually be done via your control panel or their support.

Your domain provider will issue you with an EPP code (this is commonly known as an auth code). Keep this safe as you will need to provide us with it to start the transfer.

For .ae domains, the process is slightly different. Simply head to https://password.ae and fill out the quick form. You will then be provided with the EPP/Authcode you need to request the transfer back on our website.
